Happy Thanksgiving!
Dear Friends,
As I contemplated and prayed about what I should write in this newsletter, I moved away from my original thoughts on the election and the economy to a more foundational message. One of Thanksgiving and Hope, which all of us desperately need. (See the website on the economy.)
On Sunday a family was speaking in church. The theme was gratitude. The teenage boy told how his family, every Thanksgiving, writes down 500 things they are thankful for. Now that’s a lot to write down…500 things you are thankful for. He said he really didn’t like the activity, but he had come to understand how important and useful it was in his life.
His sermon gave me pause…could I write down 500 things I was thankful for? I’ve been down hearted because of the election, having lost my own race…expecting to do better….not to mention the national debacle. (Thank you to all who gave so generously to my campaign.) I received 10,982 votes some 35%. OK…it’s credible, good showing against a 28-year incumbent with more than $84,800, but disappointing never-the-less.
In any case, I was contemplating could I write down 500 things I was thankful for. And then my heart was lifted by the hymn:
“Count Your Blessings”
by Thomas Ken.
‘When upon life’s billows you are tempest-tossed,
When you are discouraged thinking all is lost,
Count your many blessings; name them one by one,
And it will surprise you what the Lord has done.

Count your many blessings; See what God hath done…”
Counting your Blessings is very therapeutic. It lifts the soul, refocuses the mind, and gives the heart courage to go forward. As I continued to contemplate the dismal state of our nation, my mind was reminded of George Washington’s incredible Vision and Prophecy for America. I have enclosed Washington’s Vision with this Newsletter and placed the full account along with General George McClellan’s Vision on our website. Washington concludes with these words, “…I had seen a vision wherein had been shown to me the birth, progress and destiny of the United States.”
Just like in the Old Testament where Jehovah brings His people Israel back from sin and political corruption, the God of this Land, Jesus Christ, is reminding us of what happens to a nation that rejects God. After 911 people were humbled and turning to God, but the prosperity and sins of the people and of our leaders have brought us to this terrible state with worse to come as identified in Washington’s Vision.
So where is the hope? In addition to Washington’s Vision, I discovered a Vision recorded by General George McClellan in which George Washington speaks to him. These words gave me much needed comfort and HOPE for the future…that indeed our efforts for Life, Liberty and Family, and for the restoration of our Constitutional Republic would not be in vain, but that God would, after the cleansing, restore liberty in America and send it forth throughout the world. I am counting my many blessings…naming them one by one…

in Him, and she shall never be confounded…’”
